AVON, May 21 – For the past four years, members of the Avon High basketball program have played contests with fellow students who are physical or intellectually challenged. It started with the boys basketball team and grew to include the girls basketball squad as well.
On Sunday, members of the Avon High baseball team hosted a game at Buckingham Field with their peers, too. It was another opportunity for the Falcons to share their love for athletics and baseball with their fellow students.
Maria Mascoli, who began organizing the basketball games in 2014, also helped organize the baseball game with Falcon head coach Jon Yolles.
Since 2009, the Collinsville Press has been providing award-winning coverage of sports and news in the Farmington Valley and across Connecticut.
