WEST HARTFORD, May 9 – A day after a tough loss to Bolton, the Canton High girls tennis team rolled to a 7-0 win over Hartford Classical at Elizabeth Park in West Hartford to improve to 8-3 on the season.
Katherine Hynes, Manuela Montoya, Lauren Almeida and Brina Donovan won in single for the Warriors – each in straight sets.
On Monday, Bolton avenged their only loss of the season with a 4-3 win the visiting Warriors. Canton beat Bolton on April 17 by a 4-3 margin. This time, the Bulldogs swept all four singles matches to secure the victory. Bolton’s Erica Bean had to go to three sets to beat Katherine Hynes at No. 1 singles.

Bolton improved to 9-1 season with the victory but they still trail undefeated Coventry (10-0) and have two matches left with the Patriots. Canton remains fourth with an 8-3 mark, a half-game behind Granby (8-2). The Warriors return to action on Thursday when they travel to Suffield for a doubleheader.
