SUFFIELD, May 16 – The defending Class S champion Canton High girls lacrosse team finished undefeated in the North Central Connecticut Conference with a dominating 18-3 victory over Suffield on Tuesday. The Warriors (13-2) finish the league season with a perfect 8-0 mark and become the first team to run the table in the league since Avon did it in 2014.
Canton (13-2, 8-0 NCCC) had little problem with Suffield, racing out to a 10-1 lead at halftime. Grace Giancola scored a game-high six goals while Ashley Huff had a season-high four. Abby Charron had three goals while Anna Holland, Julianna Iovine, Jess Rogowski, Anna Miller and Laura DiMartino scored for the Warriors.
Jesse Webb made five saves in goal to earn the win as Canton won the NCCC for the second consecutive season.

It was the third game in four days for the Warriors. Canton fell to No. 10 Fairfield Warde on Saturday, 17-5 before rebounding to beat Bethel, 18-6 on Monday on the road. In two games, Canton has scored 36 goals and secured a pair of victories. The 18 goals in a single game is one shy of the team record of 19, a feat achieved in three games a year ago.
Against Bethel, the game was tied 2-2 after four minutes before Canton went on a 4-0 run to take command with a pair of goals from Giancola and Charron.
Charron scored twice in the final 1:34 of the first half while Giancola scored twice in the first three minutes of the second half to give Canton a commanding eight-goal lead, 12-4.
Giancola finished with a game-high seven goals and four assists while Charron added six. Maeve Balavender scored two for the Warriors, who got three saves in net from Jesse Webb to earn the win.
