AVON, May 17 – Kyle Zarwanski had a grand slam home run in the first inning as the Avon High baseball team won for the fifth time in six games with a 10-3 Central Connecticut Conference win over Windsor on Wednesday at Buckingham Field.
Zarwanski’s grand slam highlighted a six-run first inning for the Falcons, now 12-5. Zarwanski was 2-for-2 in the game with a team-leading five RBI on Senior Day. Jeremy Zarwanski was 2-for-3 for the Falcons while Will Boone had a two-RBI triple in the sixth inning.
On the mound, Justin Olson picked up the win for Avon, going 6 2/3 innings, allowing five hits and striking out six.
Avon returns to action on Friday when they travel to Meriden to face Maloney on the road.
