Rigo wins first Scholarship 5K Trail Road Race at Fisher Meadows

AVON, Sept. 10 – Berlin’s Zoltan Rigo won the first Scholarship 5K Trail road race at Fisher Meadows in Avon on Sunday. The race was sponsored by the Avon Lion’s Club.

Rigo beat Scott Holmes of Middlebury by 49 seconds to capture the 3.1-mile race. The top Avon finisher was Avon’s Daniel Isakson in 20:34.

The first woman across the finish line was Michele Stefano, who won the race in 25:18. Second place went to Bryneth Chang of Avon in 26:19 with Rebecca Wilbur of Shelton finishing third in 26:24.
