SIMSBURY, Sept. 22 – A year ago, East Hartford held off a last-minute drive from Simsbury to earn a two-point victory. Things were similar on Friday night. The visiting Hornets built a 17-point lead in the second half but held off a fourth quarter Simsbury surge for another two-point win over the Trojans Friday night at Holden Field, 30-28.
Ralph Gilliard scored on his second touchdown of the game with 1:53 remaining on an 80-yard touchdown reception from Simsbury QB Jackson Masters. The extra point by Cory Zall cut the lead to two but East Hartford was able to recover the ball and run out the clock.
East Hartford QB Raquan Thompkins completed 13-of-20 passes for 180 yards and two touchdown passes. He also ran for 188 yards on 14 carries, including a 63-yard touchdown run.

FARMINGTON, Sept. 22 – No. 6 Windsor forced five Farmington turnovers to help the visiting Warriors to a 41-0 in over the Indians in CCC Division II East action Friday night. Tomasz Johnson and Shawn Hunter scored two touchdowns each for Windsor (3-0) while Jerry Woodard caught a 22-yard touchdown pass and was 5-of-6 kicking extra points.

CROMWELL, Sept. 22 – Chris Roman scored three touchdowns for Lewis Mills on a 50-yard interception return, on a 75-yard punt return and a 40-yard run but Cromwell/Portland had too much firepower in a 44-20 Pequot Conference victory Friday night at Piersen Park.
