EAST GRANBY, Feb. 9 – Sophomore guard Abby Charron had 19 points while Lauren Puglielli added eight as the Canton High girls basketball team finished the season undefeated in the North Central Connecticut Conference with a 38-25 win over East Granby on Friday night.
It’s the second time in school history that the Warriors (16-3, 16-0 NCCC) have finished undefeated in the league. Canton also went 16-0 in the NCCC during the 1997-98 season when they finished 20-0 in the regular season.
Canton did win the NCCC championship this season – their fifth NCCC title and first outright title since the 1999 season.
The Warriors close out the regular season on Monday when they travel to Farmington (16-3) to take on the Indians at 6:45 p.m. Farmington handed No. 3 Simsbury their first loss of the season on Friday with a 29-28 victory in overtime so it will be a big challenge for the Warriors.
