Darien remains the top ranked team in the state coaches’ weekly top 10 girls lacrosse poll. The Blue Wave (8-0), who have won the last five Class L championships, received all 15 first place votes.
The top four spots in the poll are taken by FCIAC schools along with seven of the 11 teams that are ranked in the top 10 – there is a tie for tenth place. There was some movement in the top 10. Ridgefield (4-4) and Pomperaug (7-1) joined the top 10 this week.
New Fairfield (8-1), who has beaten three Class S contenders this season, received some votes. The defending Class S champions beat Canton, 14-8 on Saturday. Granby (8-2) is also receiving votes in the poll.
