CANTON, April 24 – Two Sacred Heart pitchers limited Canton to just two hits and struck out 11 batters to lead the Hearts to a 13-2 non-league victory over the Canton High baseball team in five innings on Tuesday at Bowdoin Field.
Hector Alejandro and Jesse Swartout gave up two hits and fanned 11. They walked just two batters. Kyle Barbieri was 2-for-4 with two RBI for the Hearts (5-5) while Noah Knappe was 2-for-4 with two RBI and a triple.
Canton (3-3) was led by Jack Mansur, who had a two-out, two-RBI triple in the fifth inning and Joey Fitzgerald, who had a single.
The Warriors return to action on Friday when they host Coventry at Bowdoin Field.
