WOLCOTT, June 7 – Pitcher Tyler Pelletier gave up just two hits and struck out four as the Valley Thunder dominated the Canton Crushers, 8-1 in a Tri-State League game on Thursday night.
At the plate, Pelletier was 2-for-3 with an RBI as the Thunder had 10 hits, including seven hits (three doubles) and six runs in the sixth inning to take command of the contest.
Canton (1-4) received a single from Ben Sullivan in the first inning and a two-out RBI single from Ian Bossert in his Crusher debut. He drove in Andrew Tremley, who reached base on a walk, for Canton’s only run of the game.
Crusher reliever Nick Arconti pitched two solid innings of relief, giving up just one hit.
Canton returns to action on Sunday night when they travel to Southington to face the 66ers at 6 p.m. at Recreation Park.
