NEW YORK, November 24 – Avon High freshman Jack Martin finished sixth in the freshman boys race at the Footlocker Northeast Regional cross country championships Saturday at VanCortlandt Park.
Martin finished with a time of 17:42.80 over 3.1 miles in the race to earn All-Northeast Regional honors, beating Ridgefield’s Brendan DiStefano to the line by nearly two seconds.
Earlier this season, Martin earned All-Central Connecticut Conference honors and All-State honors for his seventh place finish in the Class MM championship meet with a time of 17:09 at Wickham Park in Manchester.
