GREENSBORO, N.C., April 30, 2022 – Two Farmington Valley swimmers participated in the trials for the latest U.S. swimming world championship team at the Greensboro Aquatic Center this week.
Canton’s Will Gallant and Avon native Madison Kennedy swam in the meet. The top two swimmers in most events earned a spot on the U.S. team heading to the world championship meet in Budapest in June.
Gallant swam in two events – the men’s 1,500 meter freestyle and 800 meter freestyle. Seeded third, Gallant finished sixth with a time of 15:20.98. In the 800 meters, Gallant was also seeded third but finished tied for eighth with a time of 8:04.25.
Kennedy swam in the 50 meter freestyle and finished 19th in the qualifying rounds with a time of 25.67 seconds.
