Gallagher scores 20 as Simsbury tops Rocky Hill in CCC Tournament

Simsbury’s Olivia Jarvis (12) scored 13 points and pulled 10 rebounds in Thursday night’s win over Rocky Hill in the CCC Tournament.

SIMSBURY, Feb. 16, 2023 – Amanda Gallagher had a game-high 20 points while Faye Kaplinski had seven points, pulled down 10 rebounds and made four blocks as the Simsbury High girls basketball team beat Rocky Hill, 57-26 Thursday in the first round of the 2023 Central Connecticut Conference’s annual girls basketball tournament.

No. 4 seed Simsbury (17-4) will face No. 5 Bristol Central (16-5) on Saturday in the tournament quarterfinals at 1 p.m. at Plainville High.

Simsbury raced out to a 17-4 lead after one quarter and extended that lead to 28-9 at halftime. Olivia Jarvis scored 13 points for the Trojans along with pulling down 10 rebounds and getting five steals.
