AVON, April 19, 2023 – Rocky Hill scored a pair of unearned runs in the top of the second inning to help lift the undefeated Terriers (7-0) to a 3-2 win over Avon on Wednesday at Buckingham Field.

Rocky Hill took a 1-0 lead on a RBI single from winning pitcher Ben Centurelli. But the Terriers added two more runs thanks to a pair of one-out errors and a walk for a 3-0 lead.

Avon (4-2) cut the lead to two runs on a solo home run from Ben Priest in the fourth inning. The Falcons cut the lead to one in the fifth inning. Jacob Wirth doubled with one out, moved to third on an infield ground ball and scored on an error.

But Avon couldn’t push the game-tying run across. The Falcons had the bases loaded in the seventh inning but reliever Tyler Carlstrom got a ground ball out to get out of the jam, secure the save and the victory.
