Canton wins second straight with dominating over Rockville

Canton’s Gabby DelSanto had six goals in Tuesday afternoon’s win over Rockville.

CANTON, April 4, 2023 – Gabby Delsanto had six goals and two assists while Heather Delbone had four goals to lead the Canton High girls lacrosse team to a 15-6 win over Rockville in North Central Connecticut Conference action on Tuesday.

Ellie Bahre and Mary Deritis each had two goals with Deritis getting five assists as the Warriors improved to 2-0 on the young season. Ava Dakin made five saves in net for Canton to earn the win.

The Warriors opened the season on Saturday with a 11-7 win over Hall in West Hartford with Delsanto getting three goals and assist and Bahre scoring two goals with one assist. Deritis had four assists in that season-opening victory. Trailing by one goal at the half, Canton outscored Hall, 9-4 in the second half to secure the win.

Canton returns to action on Tuesday, April 18 when they visit for a 6 p.m. contest under the lights at Ted Beneski Field.
