The Hartford Yard Goats fell to the Binghamton Rumble Ponies by the score of 5-1 in the rubber game on Sunday at Mirabito Stadium. Rumble Ponies starter Jack Wenniger struck out a season-high 11 batters over six innings to earn his eighth win as Binghamton defeated Hartford in their second straight series. The Yard Goats open up a six-game series in Portland, Maine against the Red Sox affiliate on Tuesday.

Simsbury scored 16 runs in the second inning on 13 hits to eliminate Canton in the District 6 Major Division tournament. Simsbury had two home runs, three doubles and a triple in the decisive second inning. Canton’s Gavin Ward got a hit to extend his hitting streak to seven games with at least one hit.

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies came from behind and scored five unanswered runs to beat the Hartford Yard Goats 5-4 on Saturday night at Mirabito Stadium in Binghamton, New York. D’Andre Smith scored the game winning run in the ninth inning on a wild pitch. The Yard Goats scored four runs off 2023 National League All-Star Kodai Senga who started against Hartford on a Major League rehab assignment. The Yard Goats scored three runs on five hits, including a home run by Zach Kokoska, and knocked Senga from the game in the fourth inning. The rubber game of the series is tomorrow afternoon (1:05 PM) as the Yard Goats try for their third series win in four tries.

Highlights: Infielder Charlie Condon drove in all four runs for Hartford, and Jack Mahoney, Sam Weatherly, Collin Baumgartner and Welinton Herrera held Binghamton to just one run as the Yard Goats defeated the Binghamton Rumble Ponies 4-1 on Friday night. The Rockies #1 prospect provided some early fireworks on the 4th of July with a two-run double in the first inning, and then another two-run double in the eighth inning helping the Yard Goats to their 10th win in the last 12 road games. The Yard Goats are 7-3 in the second half and first place in the Northeast Division.

The Yard Goats split a doubleheader with the New York Mets affiliate, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies at Dunkin’ Park. The Yard Goats took game one 5-3, to extend their win streak to five straight games. Nic Kent hit a two-run home run for the Yard Goats, his first of the season. Hartford starter Sean Sullivan pitched six innings, allowing three runs, with seven strikeouts. Sullivan became the first Yard Goats pitcher this season to reach six wins. Yard Goats top prospect Charlie Condon picked up his first career Double-A hit and RBI, coming off Mets LHP Sean Manaea, on a MLB rehab assignment. In game two, the Rumble Ponies won 6-0, and got help from a three-run homer by Jesse Winker, who was on a MLB Rehab assignment.

On Wednesday, the Yard Goats that Dunkin’ Park is the winner in the 2025 Newsweek Fans’ Choice Awards contest for Best Double-A Ballpark of 2025. This is the Yard Goats first award from Newsweek, and it comes during the 10th anniversary celebration in 2025. Dunkin’ Park has previously been recognized by Ballpark Digest as the “Best Double-A Ballpark” multiple times, including in 2017, 2018, 2021, and 2022. It was the first minor league ballpark to win the award three times.
