Yes. That is a big U.S. flag that flies over Breen Field in Bristol at the Eastern Region Little League baseball tournament. State champions from Massachusetts and Rhode Island play on the field.
BRISTOL – Youth baseball fans can catch some of the best Little League baseball teams in the country at Breen Field in Bristol for the next week at the Eastern Regional tournament. The Connecticut champion Fairfield Americans are competing in the New England regional event. The Mid-Atlantic regional event is also going on at the same time.
Twelve teams from New England and the Mid-Atlantic states are participating. Winners of each regional go to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa.
Admission is free and so is parking. But there is little parking near the field. You might have to walk a bit. There is an energy at the facility that is similar to an Olympic-style event with most youngsters in their team hats and shirts and credentials around their necks. And the parents are dressed in the colors of their respective state championship teams.
