For the first time in nine years, one Little League baseball program has captured three District 6 championships. With Avon’s age 9-10 All-Star baseball team beating Burlington on Sunday, Avon won the Major Division (ages 11-12), Minor Division (ages 10-11) and 9-10 pennants.
Avon is the second D6 team to accomplish this achievement and the first since Simsbury Nationals swept all three tournaments in 2005.
All three teams advance to the divisional round of the state tournament. The tournament has four three-team divisions.
