AVON, April 13 – Ian McDonald was 4-for-5 with a double and Justin Olson was 3-for-3 with a triple, home run and three RBI to lead the Avon High baseball team to a 17-0 win over Bulkeley/Weaver in a Central Connecticut Conference game Wednesday at Buckingham Park.
It was the CCC opener for the Falcons, who improve to 2-0 on the year and 1-0 in the CCC Central White Division. The Falcons rapped out 18 hits in the victory, including three doubles, two triples and a home run.
Chris Jacobs was 3-for-4 with one RBI while catcher Jeremy Zarwanski was 2-for-4 with three RBI and a double. Andrew LeDuc was 2-for-2 with a double with Will Boone going 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Boone, Brendan Dyer and Connor Harris combined to allow five hits and strike out 11.
The Falcons return to the field on Friday when they host Southington at Buckingham at 3:45 p.m.
