WEST HARTFORD, April 20 – Sean Del Gallo had a two-RBI double to left field in the sixth inning to help lift the Avon High baseball team to a 5-3 Central Connecticut Conference victory over Conard Wednesday, snapping a two-game losing streak for the Falcons.
Trailing by one run, Avon (4-2) scored four times in the sixth with a two-out rally. The Falcons had runners on first and second base when Kyle Emery reached on an error that drove in Justin Olson to tie the game at 2-2. Brendan Dyer walked and Andrew LeDuc walked to load the bases set the stage for Del Gallo’s hit.
Olson (2-0) got the job done on the mound, going five innings and allowing just two hits. He struck out five. Connor Harris struck out three in two innings of relief. Del Gallo and Olson were both 2-for-4 at the plate for Avon.

Ellington 8, Canton 0
ELLINGTON, April 19 – Ellington’s Jay Skorulski threw a complete game no-hitter in an 8-0 win over the Canton High baseball team Tuesday in Ellington in NCCC play. Skorulski struck out six to earn the victory. The Purple Knights had 10 hits in the game as they improved to 5-1 overall and 4-1 in the league. Canton slipped to 1-2 overall.
