Tickets are still on sale for the benefit basketball game at Canton High on Tuesday, January 10, when the Harlem Wizards take on an all-star team of Canton teachers at 7 p.m. at the high school.

Proceeds will benefit the Lights on Canton initiative to raise $250,000 to install permanent lights around the turf field and track and field complex at Canton High. Last November, the Canton Planning and Zoning Commission approved an application to install permanent lights at the facility. Four 80-foot poles will provide the lights.

The Wizards will be facing off against an all-star team of Canton Public School teachers from all four of Canton’s schools. Fans should be ready to experience a magical display of tricks, coordinated ball handling, fancy passing and aerodynamic athleticism combined with high-energy comedy and audience interaction.

Tickets can be purchased before the game for $18 (adults) and $15 (children) with reserved seating available for $25. Premium courtside seats are $40 that includes a private meet and greet with the Wizards, a snack and Wizards team poster. Courtside Plus tickets are only available online from the Wizards at www.harlemwizards.com.

Tickets are available from the Wizards’ website or at the Mandell JCC Valley Sports and Community Center in Canton through January 9. Tickets can also be purchased at the game for $20 each.

Lights on Canton is a subcommittee of the Canton Booster Club and the basketball game with the Wizards is one of several fundraisers by the committee.

Recently, the committee announced the opening of its Leave a Legacy patio brick fundraiser. A large new patio will be built at the heart of the athletic complex and feature a dramatic Big C design in the official Canton Warriors colors.

People can get customizable bricks to recognize family members, an organization name or an individual achievement.  A brick also can serve as a lasting memorial to a loved one or a cherished veteran.  A variety of clipart can be added to the brick to reflect a commitment to sports, the arts, our nation or Canton Warriors.  Bricks also make outstanding gifts to recognize a parent, teacher or coach.

Standard size (4-inch-by-8-inch) richly hued red bricks are available for $100 and include three lines of customizable text.  Larger (8-inch-by-8-inch) red bricks are $250 and include 5-6 lines of text and the addition of optional clipart.  Our premium, large grey bricks are featured in the center of patio inside the bold Big C design. These limited bricks are available for $750 and include 6 lines of text.
