AVON, June 29 – Connor Lavore was 3-for-3 with three singles to help the Avon Little League baseball team win their second game in the District 6 Major Division (ages 11-12) tournament Friday night at Sperry Park.
Avon (2-0) had 12 hits with Luke Coppen, Colin Miley and Chase Beloin each getting two hits. Harrison Engle got the win on the mound for Avon.
Burlington (2-1) was led by Charlie Joiner, who was 2-for-4 with a double and a triple. Logan Fazio went the distance on the mound for Burlington, who lost their first game of the tournament, and struck out seven batters.

Avon returns to action on Sunday when they travel to Torrington (0-2) for a 5:45 p.m. contest and concludes round robin Pool A play on Monday when they host East Granby/Granby (1-2) at 8 p.m.
Defending District 6 champion Canton is playing in Pool B and is 2-1 with victories over Tri-Town, 8-6 and Terryville, 16-0 and a loss to Simsbury, 6-0. Canton hosts Simsbury in their final Pool B contest on Monday evening at 5:45 p.m.

The 11-12 Avon team is now 2-0. They won their first game vs. EGGLL on Monday. They play Torrington on Sunday and EGGLL again on Monday.
