SOMERS, April 12 – Canton’s All-State forward Abby Charron and teammate Ashley Huff each had six goals as the Canton High girls lacrosse team rolled to a 21-9 victory over Somers on Friday.
The Warriors (4-0, 4-0 NCCC) have won 26 consecutive league matches. Alle Delsanto and Maeve Balavender each had three goals for the winners while Balavender added five assists. Charron also had five assists.
Canton set a new single-game record for most goals in a contest, snapping the old mark of 20 set twice last year in wins over Newington and Old Lyme.
Courtney LeFave had three saves in net for the Warriors.
Canton hosts Ellington on Monday at 4:15 p.m. before traveling to New Fairfield on Saturday to face the Rebels, who are ranked No. 10 in the state.
