SIMSBURY, May 20 – Four girls lacrosse players from Ethel Walker School in Simsbury will represent Connecticut in the upcoming U.S. Lacrosse women’s national tournament over the Memorial Day weekend in Maryland.
Avon freshman Alexa Varano will play in the tournament along with Coventry junior Abby Grimadi, junior Lily Cullen from Oregon and Waterford sophomore Jordana Doshna.
Since its inception in 1993, the tournament has become one of the nation’s marquee college recruiting events and since 2007, at least one Ethel Walker’s player has participated in the tournament.
Walker’s hosted the Connecticut regional tryout on Sunday, May 5, with over 160 participants from across the state. All high school-aged players can try out for this highly competitive and prestigious event.
