Canton High junior Ruby Theberge has become the eighth girl in school history to score more than 1,000 points in her career.

Theberge surpassed the 1,000 point threshold in a win over Haddam-Killingworth at the high school. She is the first girl to score more than 1,000 points since Abby Charron in 2020.

In her three years on the squad, Canton has qualified for the CIAC state tournament each year. As a sophomore, the Warriors advanced to the Class S quarterfinals a year ago before dropping a decision to East Granby in overtime.

With a pair of wins, Canton also advanced to the quarterfinals of the Class S tournament in 2023 before dropping a one-point decision to East Catholic.

This season, Canton is currently 13-6 with one game left against Wilbur Cross on Saturday. The Warriors are the No. 4 seed in the upcoming NCCC Tournament.

The school record for most points in a career is held by Natasha Pronga, who graduated in 1999 and scored 1,801 points.
