Avon’s Logan Murray set a new school record in the 300 hurdles last weekend.

AVON, May 8, 2026 – Avon High junior Logan Murray set a new school record last weekend in the 300 meter hurdles at the Middletown Invitational and ran the second fastest time in school history in the 110 meter hurdles.

Murray won the 300 hurdles in a school record time of 38.87 seconds, beating East Hartford’s Jaylen Estrella (40.57) by more than a second with Pomperaug’s Kainoa Daniels finishing third in 40.93.

Murray erased the record of 39.45 set by Isaiah Adams in 2024.

In the 110 hurdles, Murray had a personal-best time of 15.01 seconds to finish third. East Hartford’s Davian Johnson won the 110 hurdles in 13.63 seconds with Estrella finishing second in 14.84 seconds.

Murray has already qualified for the Central Connecticut Conference championships in seven events and will compete in the decathlon this weekend at the 94th annual Greater Hartford Invitational on Saturday at East Hartford High.

Three other Avon runners competed at the Middletown Invitational.

Kathryn Martin was third in the 400 meters with a season-best time of 59.8 seconds while senior Lauren Edge was third in the 300 meter hurdles (48.06) and fourth (16.07) in the 100 hurdles.

In the championship heat, Avon’s Brahm Bulow finished sixth with a time of 9:21.93, the second fastest in school history. Bulow, who has signed a letter of intent to compete at Iona, owns the school record, which he set at last year’s State Open championships.
