CANTON, January 10 – The Canton High boys basketball team got back on the winning track Wednesday.
With eight players scoring led by guard Luke Brown with 12 points, the Warriors rebounded from their first loss of the season on Monday night against Granby with a 58-47 North Central Connecticut Conference victory over Coventry.
Granby outscored Canton, 14-6 in the final minutes of the fourth quarter on Monday night to grab a 55-47 victory.
But on Wednesday, Canton kept control of the contest. Brown, who drained a pair of three-point goals, received some help from Tim Keating with 10 points, Ryan Enns with nine and Thomas Amrose with a career-high nine points. Grant Lange and Jack Rose each chipped in with six.
Ryan Lawrence had a game-high 16 points while Jordan Jeroszko added 13 for Coventry (1-5, 0-4 NCCC).
It was the ninth straight win for Canton over the visiting Patriots, dating back to the 2014 campaign, and the second win over Coventry in seven days. Canton beat Coventry on Jan. 3, 57-33.

Canton (5-1, 3-1 NCCC) is in a four-way tie for second place in the NCCC race at this early point of the season. League newcomer Rockville (6-2, 5-0 NCCC) has captured their first five league contests and is in first place.
The Warriors, Hartford Classical, East Windsor and SMSA are each 3-1 in the league. Canton returns to action Friday night when they go to Hartford to take on the Tigers at 7 p.m.
