Lewis Mills junior Tommy Dinunzio and NWC’s Drew Dargati each scored their 1,000th career point in the game. “Tommy Dinunzio has been a major contributor here at Lewis Mills since walking into his first practice as a freshman,” said Lewis Mills head coach Ryan Raponey. “He helped us to a CCC South Division title and a state championship appearance as a freshman sixth man. He was an all stater as a sophomore and now scores his 1,000th in his junior year when everyone prepares to stop him each night. Most importantly he is a great leader and role model for our younger players. He provides exceptional attitude and effort on every play in games and practice. ”

Of note: Canton trailed by as many as 10 points but beat Valley to secure a spot in the CIAC Division IV tournament. Canton won their final two games to qualify. Canton gave up just six points in the fourth quarter while Nolan Endquist, Shane Leadbetter and Brayden Keefe his big three-point shots in the fourth quarter.

Down by five, Endquist hit a three-pointer from the corner with 3:09 left to cut the lead to two and Diaz tied the game at 56 with 2:16 off a nice feed from Lucas Mainville. Valley extended their lead to 58-56 with 2:00 remaining but Keefe hit a three-point shot with 50.7 seconds left to give Canton a 59-58 lead. Leadbetter got a key rebound with 39.2 seconds left after a Valley miss and Keefe sank two free throws with 6.8 seconds to go. Valley finished the regular season on a four-game losing streak.
