Bria Hartley led the Sun with 25 points, one rebound, a season-high six assists and one steal in 32 minutes played but Connecticut dropped a 92-88 decision to Los Angeles on the road Sunday. Hartley was 7-of-17 from the floor and hit four three-point shots. It marks her first 20+ points outing since August 21, 2020, and her seventh 20+ performance of her career. Saniya Rivers recorded a career-high 20 points, along with six rebounds, one assist, three steals and one block in the game. Jacy Sheldon rounded out the double-digit scorers with 11 points, two rebounds and one assist. The Sun fall to 3-16 while the Sparks improve to 7-14.

The Hartford Yard Goats were defeated by the Portland Sea Dogs 5-1 in the final game before the all-star break on Sunday afternoon at Delta Dental Park at Hadlock Field. Portland starter Hayden Mullins pitched into the seventh inning and allowed just one run on two hits and earned his third win as the Sea Dogs won the final three games of the series to earn a split. Sean Sullivan was the tough luck loser and left a 0-0 game in the fifth inning. Hartford was 1-10 with runners in scoring position and left nine on base. Dyan Jorge had a pair of hits and reached base three times for the Yard Goats. The Yard Goats will enjoy a four-day break and return to action and host the New York Yankees affiliate, the Somerset Patriots on Friday night (7:10 PM) at Dunkin’ Park.

It was the Sea Dogs second straight win after the Yard Goats had won the previous eight matchups. Portland starter Connelly Early pitched six innings and allowed just one run on three hits to pick up his eighth win. Kyle Karros had a double and Nic Kent had two hits for Hartford who can win the series with a victory tomorrow afternoon.

The Yard Goats had their eight-game win-streak against the Portland Sea Dogs snapped as the Red Sox affiliate battled back from a 3-0 deficit to beat Hartford 4-3 at Delta Dental Park at Hadlock Field. Juan Guerrero had three hits and drove in two runs for the Yard Goats. Ahbram Liendo cranked a two-run homer while Tyler Miller and Marvin Alcantara drove in a pair of runs in the sixth inning to end the Sea Dogs overall five-game slide. Sea Dogs starter David Sandlin pitched into the seventh inning and allowed three runs on six hits and recorded his fifth win. It was Portland’s first win against Hartford since June 3rd. The Yard Goats have the second-best overall record in the Northeast Division at 46-39.

Tina Charles led Connecticut with her second-straight double-double, notching 20 points and 10 rebounds but Seattle surged in the fourth quarter to beat the Sun on Friday night, 79-65. With 20 points on the evening, the WNBA veteran eclipsed 8,000 points in her professional career. She joins Diana Taurasi as the only other player in league history to achieve the 8,000-point feat. She now has 8,010 points in her career, sitting second all-time in WNBA history. Saniya Rivers contributed a career-high tying 12 points, along with two rebounds, three assists and two steals. The rookie guard has gone nine-straight games with at least one steal and put up her 11th game this season with at least 2+ steals. Her rookie counterpart Leila Lacan tallied a career-high 10 points, seven rebounds and one assist in a career-high 32 minutes played off the bench in the game. Olivia Nelson-Ododa rounded out the Sun’s double-digit scorers with 10 points, eight rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block.

The Rockies top prospect singled to center field, scoring Zach Kokoska as the Yard Goats beat the Red Sox farm team for the eighth consecutive game. Condon went 2-4 with an RBI and run scored. Hartford starter Jack Mahoney along with relievers Mason Green, Bryce McGowan, Welinton Herrera, Carson Skipper and Collin Baumgartner held the Sea Dogs to just one run. Hartford pitching has allowed just three runs in the first three games of the season while winning each game. The Yard Goats have the second-best overall record in the Northeast Division at 46-38.

The Yard Goats got great pitching and timely hitting in a 3-2 win against the Portland Sea Dogs in the second game of a six-game series at Delta Dental Park at Hadlock Field in Portland, Maine. Hartford starter McCade Brown went five innings, allowing just one run and had six strikeouts for his third win. Relievers Evan Shawver, Sam Weatherly, Carson Skipper and Brayan Castillo finished the final four innings and surrendered just one run as the Yard Goats beat the Sea Dogs for the seventh consecutive game. Castillo struck out Brooks Brannon to end the game with runners at second and third base. Ronaiker Palma hit a solo home run and Nic Kent had a sacrifice fly in the Hartford victory. Hartford pitching was impressive once again and has limited the Sea Dogs to just three runs in the first two games of the series. Starter McCade Brown went five strong with six strikeouts and did not walk a single batter. He retired the final 10 batters faced and permitted just one run with two singles and a double.
