Jonquel Jones had 15 points and three blocks while Marine Johannes had 12 points and five steals at the New York Liberty beat the Connecticut Sun, 79-67 in a WNBA exhibition game at the Mohegan Sun Arena. It was the final exhibition game for both teams. The two teams will open the 2026 season against each other on Friday in Brooklyn.

The Yard Goats blasted three home runs to defeat the Reading Fightin Phils 12-6 on Sunday afternoon at Dunkin’ Park. Benny Montgomery started the home run parade with a monster shot over the batter’s eye in center field in the second inning, followed by Conner Capel’s solo shot later that frame. Aiden Longwell added a two-run homer in the eighth inning. Connor Staine pitched five innings and retired the final 11 batters he faced to earn his first win. The Yard Goats play in Binghamton, New York next week and return to Dunkin’ Park to host the Red Sox affiliate for a six-game series starting May 12.

GJ Hill recorded a pair of hits but the Hartford Yard Goats fell to the Reading Fightin Phils 5-3 at Dunkin’ Park. Reading scored a run in each of the first three innings as the Fightin Phils led 4-0 through five. Hartford scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to cut the Reading lead to one. Reading added an insurance run in the top of the ninth as the Yard Goats trailed 5-3 heading to the bottom of the ninth. The Yard Goats brought the potential game tying run to the plate after GJ Hill doubled with two outs, but could not capitalize as Fightin Phils reliever Alex McFarlane secured the third straight Reading win by earning his second save of the season.

The Fightin Phils offense recorded 17 hits and scored runs in six of the nine innings. Reading Fightin Phils starter Braydon Tucker limited the Yard Goats offense to just two runs in six innings, while striking out three and walking just one Yard Goats hitter. Hartford scored a run in the ninth on an RBI-single from Conner Capel.

Bryant Betancourt, Aidan Longwell and Roc Riggio all homered as the Hartford Yard Goats defeated the Reading Fightin Phils 6-2 at Dunkin’ Park. Betancourt’s three-run homer came in the third and gave the Yard Goats a 3-1 lead. Longwell’s two-run homer came in the fifth and made the score 5-1. Riggio’s solo blast came in the seventh and made it a 6-2 ballgame. Yard Goats starter Konner Eaton recorded a season-high seven strikeouts and allowed just one run over four innings. Yard Goats reliever Sam Weatherly pitched a scoreless ninth to secure back-to-back victories for Hartford.
