At Binghamton, N.Y.
Outfielder Zach Kokoska smashed two homers, one in each game of the doubleheader, leading the Yard Goats to a twin-bill sweep, winning 5-2 and 5-0 at Mirabito Stadium. Kokoska hit a two-run homer in the first game, and then helped the Yard Goats to a five-run inning with a three-run shot in game two, while becoming the career home run king.  Kokoska’s 38 career homers are the most of any player in Yard Goats history, passing Kyle Datres.  The Yard Goats have won a season-high four consecutive games, went 5-1 on the road trip in New York, and return to Dunkin’ Park on Tuesday evening to host the Red Sox affiliate, the Portland Sea Dogs.

Hartford’s Arturo Diz Pe scored in the 89th minute off a header to lift the Athletic to a 2-1 win over Detroit City FC in USL Championship play on a rainy evening at Trinity Health Stadium.  Diz Pe used his head to redirect a corner kick from teammate Matt Real for the game-winning goal. Hartford (3-1-4 USL Championship) took a 1-0 lead in the 59th minute as a Samuel Careaga shot survived a Detroit City deflection and hit the back of the net to give Hartford a 1-0 lead. Detroit City FC (4-3-1 USL Championship) found the equalizer in the 85th minute, forcing an own goal off a corner kick leveling the match at 1.
