Conner Capel led off the ninth inning with a game-tying home run, and GJ Hill cracked a two-out RBI single leading the Yard Goats past the first-place New Hampshire Fisher Cats 3-2 on Saturday afternoon at Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester, New Hampshire. The Fisher Cats had a 2-1 lead from the second through the eighth innings. The Yard Goats have won four consecutive games and six of seven to pull within one-half game of the top spot in the division. The victory also secured Hartford’s second straight road series win. Konner Eaton pitched six innings and allowed just two runs, Cade Denton fired two perfect innings for the win, and Jose Torres earned the save with a scoreless ninth inning.

Connor Staine worked five solid innings and was backed by eight runs as the Hartford Yard Goats defeated the first-place New Hampshire Fisher Cats 8-1 at Delta Dental Stadium. Roc Riggio cranked a three-run homer and Aiden Longwell had two hits, including a two-run double. Relievers Davis Palermo and Fidel Ulloa combined to fire four scoreless innings with eight strikeouts. The victory pulled the second-place Yard Goats to within 1.5 games of the top spot in the division. Hartford has won three in-a-row and five of its last six games.

Two second half goals lifted Tulsa FC to a 2-0 win over Hartford in USL Championship play. Jamie Webster gave the home team a 1-0 lead in the 46th minute after he beat Hartford goalie Antony Siaha on a penalty kick. Tulsa extended the lead in the 61st minute as a short, low cross across the box found the head of Alonzo Clarke, who potted the rock to extend the lead to 2-0. Hartford was rewarded two corner kicks late in the contest that both proved to be unsuccessful. Despite coming out on the losing end, Athletic held advantages in possession percentage, corner kicks, shots, and shots on target. Hartford had a grade-A chance early on as Jordan Scarlett sent a rocket towards goal in the fourth minute that dinged the top right corner post. In the 33rd minute, Athletic got hold of a strong header towards goal that also came up unsuccessful.

Despite a few key opportunities, Hartford Athletic couldn’t find the back of the net for the second straight contest, resulting in a 0-0 draw with cross-state rival New England Mutiny in United Soccer League W League action on Friday night. Athletic (0-0-2) scoops up another point in the Northeast Division standings with the tie. Hartford nearly struck in the 30th minute as Domi Richardson sent a shot right over the crossbar. After a comfortable save by New England Lana Gibbs in the 41st minute, Athletic was rewarded their first corner in the 44th minute with no success. Rebeca Frisk had a near-miss try in the 59th minute go wide right before the two teams traded a series of corner kicks. In the 80th minute, Diana Baffor had an attempt for Hartford rise above the goal mount, keeping the score empty. Mutiny nearly broke the stalemate in stoppage time, but Gibbs came up large to preserve the tie.

Diamond Miller led Connecticut (1-6) with 13 points and two steals while Aaliyah Edwards added 10 points and pulled down seven rebounds.

The Hartford Yard Goats hit four home runs, including two from outfielder Benny Montgomery, and defeated the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 10-8 at Delta Dental Stadium. It was the second game of a six-game series against the first-place Toronto Blue Jays affiliate. The Yard Goats had an 9-0 lead in the eighth inning before the Fisher Cats scored eight runs to pull within one. Benny Montgomery got the home run parade going with a two-run shot in the third inning. GJ Hill had an inside-the-park three-run homer in the fourth inning, followed by Bryant Betancourt’s solo shot later that inning. Montgomery added a solo home run in the ninth. Eiberson Castellano fired seven scoreless innings to earn his third win.

For the second straight season, the Sun began the season with five consecutive losses. Burke finished with 15 points. Playing with out Brittney Griner, the Sun got a career-high 15 points from rookie Nell Angloma and 10 points from Raegan Beers.

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats scored two runs in the bottom of the 10th inning to beat the Hartford Yard Goats 4-3 at Delta Dental Stadium. It was the first game of a six-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays affiliate. Hartford took a 3-2 lead in the 10th inning on Bryant Betancourt’s RBI double but the Fisher Cats tied the game on a bases-loaded walk and won it on an infield groundout by Jay Harry, scoring Victor Arias. Rockies right-hander Ryan Feltner was sharp in a MLB rehab start for the Yard Goats and went 3.2 scoreless innings with four strikeouts. Braylen Wimmer had two doubles and drove in a run.
