The Yard Goats fell to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 7-6 in front of 6,872 fans on Sunday afternoon in Dunkin’ Park. Somerset (35-28) defeated Binghamton to pull within a half game of the first place Yard Goats (35-27) with six games remaining in the first half. A playoff berth goes to the Northeast Division champion when the first half of the season ends on June 21. Hartford’s Aidan Longwell continued his hot streak with a solo home run, his second straight game going deep, while Roc Riggio added a towering solo blast to center field. Zack Kokoska contributed an RBI triple. Hartford’s Dyan Jorge sparked the offense by reaching base, stealing second, and scoring the game-tying run in the seventh inning. Hartford erased deficits twice and held leads in the middle innings, but New Hampshire plated the go-ahead run in the eighth. The Yard Goats begin a crucial six-game series in Reading Pennsylvania on Tuesday.

Braylen Wimmer drove in four runs, Aidan Longwell crushed a three-run home run, and pitchers Jake Brooks, Carlos Torres and Fidel Ulloa were solid on the mound as the Hartford Yard Goats defeated the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 7-2 in front of 7,005 fans on Saturday night at Dunkin’ Park. The game was tied 2-2 heading to the bottom of the eighth before an RBI-double from Braylen Wimmer and Longwell’s homer capped a five-run eighth and gave the Yard Goats a 7-2 lead. Yard Goats starter Jake Brooks allowed two runs over six strong innings to help Hartford win their third straight and fifth game of the series. The Yard Goats remain in first place of the Eastern League Northeast Division with seven games remaining in the first half.

Hartford Athletic handed Tampa Bay Rowdies their first loss of the season as a first-half tally by Sebastian Anderson and Antony Siaha’s sixth clean sheet of the season helped maintain a 1-0 win in USL Championship action on Saturday night. Defense was paramount in the second half as Tampa Bay (8-1-4) fired 11 total attempts towards Siaha with four being blocked and another two being saved by the goalkeeper. The 28-year-old’s best save of the half came on a goal-line try in the 88th minute, keeping the score locked at 1-0. Siaha finished the night with five saves while Tampa Bay owned advantages in both corner kicks (15-1) and shot attempts (27-9). Hartford is 4-2-5 on the year.

The Yard Goats defeated the Toronto Blue Jays Double-A affiliate, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 11-1 in front of 6,715 fans on Friday night at Dunkin’ Park. Bryant Betancourt blasted his 12th home run of the season and went 4-4, while right-hander Jackson Cox impressed in his Double-A debut. Cox struck out eight batters over 5.1 scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and three walks. Hartford’s offense broke the game open with its biggest offensive inning of the season in the fourth, scoring eight runs on six hits while drawing two walks en route to its seventh win in nine games and improving to 4-1 on the homestand. The Yard Goats (34-26)  are in first place in the Eastern League’s Northeast Division by 1.5 games over Somerset (30-29) with eight games remaining in the first half.

Hartford’s Diana Baffor scored her second goal in two matches but Hartford Athletic battled to a 1-1 ties with Vermont Green FC in United Soccer W League Northeast Division action on Friday night. Baffor scored in the seventh minute and Vermont tied the game in the 34th minute on a goal from Emily Mara. Both teams are 3-0-3 in the Northeast Division.

Hartford pitcher Jack Mahoney struck out 10 and allowed just one hit over five scoreless innings to lead the Yard Goats to a 5-3 Eastern League win over New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Thursday night at Dunkin’ Park. The win enabled Hartford (33-26) to maintain their hold on first place in the Northeast Division with nine games remaining in the first half of the season. The winner of the first half secures a berth in the Eastern League playoffs in September. The Yard Goats have a half game lead over Somerset (33-27) and a 2.5 game lead over New Hampshire (30-28). New Hampshire right-hander Jake Bloss made an appearance as he works back from Tommy John surgery. Bloss struck out six batters over 3.1 innings but allowed three runs on four hits and walked two. Yard Goats tonight had five stolen bases, two from Jorge and two from Cole Messina. At the plate, Jorge paced the Hartford offense with three hits, while Zach Kokoska provided the big swing with a two-run home run as the Yard Goats secured the victory. Mahoney improved to 3-0 on the year.

Benny Montgomery smashed go-ahead two run double in the sixth inning helping the Yard Goats defeat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 4-3 in game one of the doubleheader on Wednesday night at Dunkin’ Park. Hartford starter, Konnor Eaton, pitched 6.1 innings allowing three runs on two hits with six strikeouts to earn his fourth win. The victory ensured the Yard Goats first place in the division with less than two weeks remaining in the first half.  In game two, the Yard Goats were unable to overcome an early deficit and fell to the Fisher Cats, 7-5. New Hampshire jumped out to a four-run lead in the opening inning on RBI hits from Jay Harry and Victor Arias, then added three more runs over the next four innings to build a 7-3 advantage. Hartford battled back behind a three-RBI performance from Cole Messina, cutting the deficit to two runs in the sixth inning.

The Hartford Yard Goats took down the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 4-3 in 10 innings in front of 6,780 fans on Tuesday night in Dunkin’ Park to keep their first-place spot in the Northeast Division. Bryant Betancourt blasted a game-tying three-run home run with two outs in the ninth inning, and Dyan Jorge won the game on a wild pitch by Yondrei Rojas in the tenth inning. The Yard Goats (31-25) did not have their first hit until the seventh inning, a Braylen Wimmer lead-off single, extending his hitting streak to 10 straight games. Hartford leads Somerset by a game and the Fisher Cats (29-26) by a one and half games.
