The Hartford Yard Goats were defeated by the Portland Sea Dogs, 6-0, in front of 7,027 fans on Sunday afternoon at Dunkin’ Park. Red Sox top prospect Franklin Arias reached base three times, drove in a run, and scored twice, while Miguel Bleis and Jack Winkler each homered to lead Portland’s offense. Sea Dogs starter Blake Wehunt turned in six scoreless innings, striking out eight batters and allowing just one hit as Portland pitchers combined for a two-hit shutout and 13 strikeouts. GJ Hill and Jimmy Obertop accounted for Hartford’s two hits. Yard Goats starter Jack Mahoney worked five innings and allowed three runs with a walk and six strikeouts. The Yard Goats open a road trip against the New York Yankees affiliate on Tuesday in Somerset, New Jersey.

The Hartford Yard Goats fell to the Portland Sea Dogs, 5-2, in front of 7,320 fans on Saturday night at Dunkin’ Park. Red Sox top prospect, Franklin Arias, cracked a go-ahead two-run homer in the eighth, giving the Sea Dogs the lead. Andy Perez drove in Hartford’s first run with an RBI single before belting a solo home run in the eighth inning. Dyan Jorge added his team-leading 26th stolen base, while Yard Goats starter Cade Denton tossed three scoreless innings. Hartford carried a 1-0 lead into the eighth inning before Portland scored five runs over the final two frames to secure the victory.

The Hartford Yard Goats defeated the Portland Sea Dogs 4-3 in front of 6,245 fans at Dunkin’ Park. Zach Kokoska cracked a two run single to tie the game in the seventh inning, and Andy Perez’s sacrifice fly scored Dyan Jorge in the eighth giving the Yard Goats (41-31) the lead. Connor Staine and Fidel Ulloa limited the Sea Dogs (37-35) to just three runs. Kokoska, recently added off the injured list, led off the third with a rocket double to score Hartford’s first run. … Playoff tickets are now on sale for the Yard Goats, who earned a spot in September’s Eastern League playoffs for the second time in three years by winning the first half Northeast Division title.

The Hartford Yard Goats fell 7-1 to the Portland Sea Dogs on Thursday night at Dunkin’ Park in Hartford. The Boston Red-Sox affiliate got started early, scoring three runs in the second inning and adding four more in the third. The Yard Goats attempted a comeback later in the game when Braylen Wimmer solo homered to start the seventh. Hartford left-hander Griffin Herring helped keep the Sea Dogs off the board allowing just three hits while striking out six after entering in the sixth inning before exiting during the ninth. Wimmers has hit safely in 17 of his last 18 games. Gage Ziehl pitched 5.2 scoreless innings to earn the win.

Portland broke open a scoreless game with five runs in the fourth inning and added five more runs over the next three frames to secure the victory. The Yard Goats mounted a comeback attempt with two runs in the fifth inning and two more in the seventh, but the Sea Dogs bullpen held Hartford in check the rest of the way. Bryant Betancourt and Cole Messina each collected RBI singles, while GJ Hill scored twice for Hartford and was strong on defense.

The Hartford Yard Goats defeated the Boston Red Sox affiliate, the Portland Sea Dogs, 7-5 at Dunkin’ Park in Hartford. The Yard Goats erased a one-run deficit with a three-run seventh inning to earn the win. Hartford stole its 100th base of the season and tied a franchise record with 9 stolen bases, led by GJ Hill with four. The Yard Goats jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the second inning. After the Sea Dogs took a 5-4 lead in the top of the seventh, Dyan Jorge tied the game in the bottom half with an RBI single, scoring Cole Messina. Next, GJ Hill stole home, giving the Yard Goats a 6-5 lead. Later in the inning, Roc Riggio’s infield grounder scored Jorge to make it 7-5. Hartford relievers Davis Palermo, Sam Weatherly and Fidel Ulloa fired 4.2 scoreless innings as the Yard Goats won the first game of the second half.

Isabel Smith’s goal in the 70th minute lifted Vermont Green to a 2-1 win over Hartford in W League Northeast Division action on Monday night. Hartford (4-1-3) took a 1-0 lead lead in the 21st minute as Ashley Reyes cashed in on a cross from Olivia Beauvois. Vermont (5-0-4) tied the game seven minutes later as Violet Rademacher put home a header off of a corner kick.
