Jimmy Obertop and Jack O’Dowd each hit solo home runs, while Mike Antico delivered a go-ahead two-run homer in the seventh inning to lead Hartford to 4-2 win over New Hampshire in Eastern League action before 7,190 fans at Dunkin’ Park. Yard Goats starter P Stu Flesland III turned in his best outing of the season, tossing six innings and striking out a season-high seven batters. Hartford closer Fidel Ulloa ended the game by picking off Arjun Nimmala, securing his seventh save of the season and giving Yard Goats manager Robinson Cancel his 600th career victory as a manager. Cancel, in his first season in Hartford, is in his 11th minor league season. He has coached in the Braves, Astros and Rockies farm system.

Thorleifur Úlfarsson had a goal and an assist as Loudoun United FC notched their second straight win with a 2-0 win over Hartford in USL Championship play. in United Soccer League Championship action as they shutout Hartford Athletic by a 2-0 score on Saturday night. Abdellatif Aboukoura took a pass from Úlfarsson in the 40th minute for a 1-0 lead. In the 73rd minute, chipped home a shot past Hartford goalie Antony Siaha off a carom from a sliding Jordan Scarlett. Hartford slips to 4-5-8 while Loudoun improves to 3-5-9. Siaha had five saves in net.

The Yard Goats rallied to beat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays affiliate), 9-8 in eight innings in the opener in front of 6,935 fans at Dunkin Park during Whalers Weekend. In the nightcap, New Hampshire beat Hartford, 3-2. After surrendering the lead in the top of the eighth inning, Hartford answered with two runs in the bottom half to complete a dramatic walk-off extra-inning victory. Cole Messina beat the throw home on a ground ball by Dyan Jorge lifting the Yard Goats to a 9-8 win, their third in a row. Messina finished with a three-run double and scored the winning run, while Jorge drove in three runs, including the game-winning RBI. GJ Hill added a two-run home run as the Yard Goats erased multiple deficits to claim the opener.
In game two, New Hampshire blasted three solo-home runs to beat the Yard Goats for the first time this week. Jared Thomas provided Hartford’s offense with a go-ahead two-run home run, but New Hampshire answered with a pair of solo homers to split the twin bill.

Chicago’s Kamilla Cardoso scored 18 of her 26 points in the fourth quarter as the Sky erased a 14-point deficit to beat Connecticut, 94-88 in Chicago. Cardoso was 8-of-12 from the floor and 10-of -11 from the foul line. Former Sun forward DiJonai Carrington made her season debut after missing the first 27 games because of a sprained foot and finished with nine points in 16 minutes. Aneesah Morrow scored 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting for the Sun (7-22) in their fourth consecutive loss. Olivia Nelson-Ododa had 16 points, 11 rebounds, four steals and three blocks. Brittney Griner did not play due to a knee injury.

The Yard Goats defeated the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 10-5 in front of 6,104 fans on Thursday night at Dunkin’ Park. Jack Mahoney turned in another strong start to improve to 7-1 for the Yard Goats. He tossed six-innings while allowing six hits and one run while striking out six. He lowered his ERA to 1.99 over 13 starts, the best in franchise history. Mike Antico and GJ Hill each blasted two-run home runs in the fourth inning to give the Yard Goats a 6-1 lead. After the Fisher Cats rallied for four runs in the seventh to cut the deficit to one, Roc Riggio answered with a three-run homer in the bottom of the inning to help Hartford pull away for their 10-5 victory.

The Hartford Yard Goats defeated the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 8-3 on Tuesday night in the first game of a six-game series at Dunkin’ Park. Right-hander Connor Staine got his third win in a row and through five innings pitched he allowed just three runs, walked three, and struck out four. Fisher Jameson came in to pitch for Hartford in the sixth allowing three hits, no runs and striking out one. Hartford stole three bases in the first inning, had five through two innings and established a new franchise record with 11. Andy Perez, who leads the Eastern League in hits added three more.
Zach Kokoska was hit by a pitch in the bottom of the sixth and later in the inning GJ Hill lined an RBI double to knock in Kokoska, extending the Yard Goats’ lead to 5-3. In the bottom of the seventh the Yard Goats broke the game open. Andy Perez and Dyan Jorge pulled off a double steal before Perez stole home on a wild pitch for Hartford’s 11th stolen base making it a franchise high and extending their lead to 6-3. Braylen Wimmer followed with an RBI single to score Jorge, and Aiden Longwell added an RBI single to bring home Roc Riggio, extending the lead to 8-3.
